Austin Hooper: A Look at the New England Patriots Tight End

Early Life and Career

Austin Manuel Hooper was born on October 29, 1994, in Dublin, California. He played college football at Stanford University, where he was a two-time All-Pac-12 selection and a consensus All-American in 2015.

Hooper was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round (81st overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

NFL Career

Hooper spent four seasons with the Falcons, starting 50 of 63 games played. He recorded 26 touchdowns and 2,637 receiving yards. In 2019, he was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time.

In 2020, Hooper signed a four-year, $44 million contract with the Cleveland Browns. He started 13 games for the Browns in 2020 and missed the 2021 season due to an appendectomy.

In March 2022, Hooper signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Tennessee Titans. He is expected to play a significant role in the Titans' offense in 2022.
